The film fraternity and fans were shell shocked at the news of actress Meena's husband Vidyasagar's death at a young age. He passed away on July 28th evening at a private hospital in Chennai where he was undergoing treatment for a long time and left behind his wife and ten year old daughter Nainika. His body was cremated on July 29th at the Besant Nagar crematorium with Meena conducting his last rites.
Initially it was reported that Vidyasagar was infected by the coronavirus which caused his death. The Tamil Nadu Health Minister M. Subramanian has clarified that the 48 year old developed lung disease in December last year and was treated at home with the help of oxygen cylinders after that.
He further added that Vidyasagar was hospitalized for the past six months due to lungs failure and was awaiting organ transplant. Subramanian also visited the deceased a few weeks back but he was unconcious and though the state under M.K. Stalin tried its best to procure lungs and heart for transplant a proper donor was not available.
The minister has made it clear that Vidyasagar breathed his last due to multi organ failure and prolonged disease and not due to COVID 19 as reported by some sections of the media.
