The Indian version of PUBG Mobile, Battlegrounds Mobile India, is likely to release in India on June 18, as per reports. A PUBG Mobile influencer had posted a binary code on his Twitter account which translates to 18062021, indicating that the game might be launched in the country on the 18th of this month.
South Korean developer Krafton, however, has not officially announced the release date of Battlegrounds Mobile India. The pre-registrations for the game went live on May 18 and the renewed version of PUBG requires 2GB RAM to play and will run on Android 5.1.1 or above.
The Director of Esports Federation of India & Vice-President of the Asian Esports Federation (AESF), Lokesh Suji, had earlier said, "It is heartening to see that Krafton Inc. has announced the date for pre-registrations of Battlegrounds Mobile India, which is a clear indication that government green light has been given and this surely is good news for all the PUBG players who have been missing the game all this while since its withdrawal from the Indian market after the government ban."
Following a clash in mid-June last year between the military troops in India and China over disputed territory which resulted in the death of 20 Indian soldiers, 59 Chinese based mobile apps, including the popular video sharing app TikTok, were banned in the country over data security concerns.
Later, the government took up another list of such applications and examined them for violations to security and user privacy. Following this, a hundred other applications, including PUBG Mobile, were banned in the country.
