Prasanna thanks Kerala Muslim Jamath on Sabarimala issue

The Supreme Court has ruled that all women, irrespective of their age should be allowed to enter the Sabarimala Shrine against the age old custom of not allowing women of menstrual age into the temple. The presiding deity of the hill temple, lord Ayyappa is considered as celibate and hence the women falling under the age group of 10-50 are not allowed inside the temple.

However the Kerala Government finds it tough to implement the Supreme Court ruling as the temple’s priests as well as thousands of devotees are protesting against the entry of women. Till now no woman has entered the temple which was opened for Darshan on October 17th.

Meanwhile an activist named Rehana Fathima tried to enter the temple, but was stopped and sent back by the police itself. The Government has made it clear that it can give protection only to devotees and not the activists who visit the temple to prove a point.

The Islamic identify of Rehana Fatima created a huge controversy as pro-Hindutva organizations and activists started questioning her intent behind visiting a Hindu shrine. Her house in Kerala was ransacked by unknown persons.

Now the Kerala Muslim Jamath Council has directed the Ernakulam Central Muslim Jamath to expel Rehana as well as her family members from the Islamic community and it is expected to be implemented soon.

Knowing this information in Twitter, Tamil actor Prasanna has thanked the Muslim Jamaath for understanding the sentiments of Hindus.
