Director Prashant Neel, who astonished the country with his 'KGF' saga, is back with the new magnum opus 'Salaar' starring Rebel Star Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles. The first part of Salaar, Ceasefire, is gearing up to hit the screens on December 22. The much-awaited movie's trailer was unleashed today.
The close to 4-minute video opens with two inseparable friends parting ways in their childhood. One of them promises to come back to defend his friend whenever he needs him. Then, we move to Khansaar where the world of Salaar is set. Khansaar is a kingdom formed by three tribes who were part of a deadly dacoit group rooting back to a thousand years.
In today's world, the city of Khansaar is an unbreachable fort with modern defence and attack systems. Raja Mannar (Jagapathi Babu) is ruling the city and he wants his son Varadha Raja Mannar (Prithviraj) to be the Lord but the throne of Khansaar is surrounded by conspiracies of roles played by BS Avinash, Sriya Reddy, Bobby Simha and John Vijay.
The traitors plan to assassinate Varadha Raja Mannar and breach the fort with armies of Russians and Serbians in huge numbers. In this situation, Varadha Raja Mannar seeks the help of his old friend and one-man army Deva (Prabhas). Notably, the entry of Prabhas didn't feature until the final minute of the trailer. It is non-stop, extravagant action till the end right from his entry.
Prabhas' punch dialogue is sure to leave the fans with goosebumps. Salaar Ceasefire is all about the war between the two friends and the rest of the world. The look and feel of this movie are very similar to KGF except for the background score which didn't live up to the expectations. Though it has blockbuster written all over, the trailer reveals the story too much.
We only get a short look at Shruti Haasan's character. Salaar Ceasfire features Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jagapathi Babu, Eswari Rao, Shruti Haasan, Ramachandra Raju, Sriya Reddy, Bobby Simha, John Vijay, Mime Gopi, Tinnu Anand, Madhu Guruswamy, Prudhvi Raj and many others. The music is composed by Ravi Basrur with DOP by Bhuvan Gowda and editing by Ujwal Kulkarni.
