About 12 Tablighi Jamaat activists were on Sunday found hiding in a mosque named Alizan Mosque near Sadar Bazar near Lucknow Cantonment in Uttar Pradesh. The police conducted a raid and made them undergo tests. All 12 have tested positive for COVID-19.
As per media reports, the activists were secretly hiding in the mosque and it took the military intelligence department to learn about their whereabouts. The military gave the UP Police Intel a tip-off, following which the police raid was carried out.
“All the 12 were part of Nizamuddin Markaz. FIR has been lodged against them (for hiding),” a report says.
How did the Military Intelligence discover their whereabouts? “They found food packets being silently delivered to some non-locals hiding in a mosque. Cops were alerted and prompt action was taken. Area well sanitized by the local administration,” reports Aditya Raj Kaul, a journalist.
