Wockhardt Hospital sealed: 26 nurses, 3 doctors test positive for COVID-19

Mumbai’s Wockhardt Hospital was on Monday morning declared a containment zone by authorities after 26 nurses and 3 doctors tested positive for COVID-19 in the past seven days.

As per Times Of India, all the patients in the hospital will now be tested for COVID-19.  Only if every one of them tests negative twice will the hospital be reopened.

Reports say that, so far, swab samples of more than 270 staff members of the hospital staff and some patients have been sent for tests.

“Likely, a 70-year-old patient was the source of infection. The nurses union has alleged that the infection spread happened because the staff was not given Personal Protection Equipments, the hospital didn’t quarantine them and insisted that they work despite having no kits,” a report says.
