Venkat Prabhu made a tremendous comeback as a top commercial director with 'Maanaadu' starring Simbu and S.J. Suryah which also received critical acclaim. He followed it up with the entertaining experimental film 'Manmadha Leelai and has now started shooting for 'NC 22' a Telugu/Tamil bnilingual.
'NC 22' produced by Srinivasaa Silver Screen with Ilayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja scoring the music. Naga Chaitanya and Krithi Shetty are playing the lead pair while several leading stars from Telugu and Tamil are also on board.
Initially Venkat Prabhu had approached actor Arun Vijay to play the chief antagonist in 'NC 22' but he could not commit for unknown reasons. Now it is said that Arvind Swamy is in advanced stage of negotiations to play the baddie. It the deal comes good this will be the handsome hero's third full fledged negative role in Tamil after 'Thani Oruvan' and 'Bogan'.
It is also worth mentioning that Venkat Prabhu's first choice to play the villain in 'Maanaadu' was Arvind Swamy who could not allot dates at that time. The role later went to S.J. Suryah who stole the show. It is also said that Arvind Swamy is also part of another Venkat Prabhu film that costars Prabhu Deva and Kicha Sudeepa.
