Actor-director Ponvannan who contested the Nadigar Sangam Elections in 2015 as part of Pandavar Ani and was elected as the Vice President, resigned his post on Monday citing  Vishal's political ambitions. 

After the letter was received the Nadigar Sangam conducted a special Executive Council meeting and here are the decisions taken in that meeting 

It has been decided in the meeting to not acept the resignation tendered by Ponvannan and to give time for him to reconsider his decision to quit. It is also said that Vishal has explained his position and clarified that his decision to take a plunge in electoral politics does not go against the by laws of the Sangam.

It has to be seen whether Ponvannan will take back his resignation letter or go head with his decision.
