Naga Chaitanya Begins ‘Dhootha 2’, Takes First Step as Producer

Actor Naga Chaitanya has officially launched Dhootha 2, the much-awaited second season of the hit supernatural thriller series that captivated audiences on Amazon Prime Video. The project marks a special milestone in Chaitanya’s career as he not only returns as the lead actor but also makes his debut as a producer.

The series is being jointly produced by Annapurna Studios and Northstar Entertainment, led by producer Sharrath Marar, with Naga Chaitanya Akkineni joining the venture as a producer. Acclaimed filmmaker Vikram K Kumar, who directed the successful first season, is back at the helm for the sequel.

The grand launch ceremony took place in Hyderabad in the presence of veteran actor Akkineni Nagarjuna. Seeking divine blessings before the start of production, the team conducted a traditional pooja ceremony. Nagarjuna gave the ceremonial clap for the first shot featuring Naga Chaitanya, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Priya Bhavani Shankar, before officially handing over the script to director Vikram K Kumar.

Sharing his excitement on social media, Naga Chaitanya wrote, “Auspicious beginnings as I step into the second chapter of Dhootha and my first step as a producer. Onwards and upwards. Here’s to the magic ahead.”

The first season of Dhootha became one of the most acclaimed Telugu original series on Amazon Prime Video, winning praise for its gripping narrative, supernatural mystery, and engaging performances. The show’s unique storytelling style helped it gain a strong following among OTT audiences.

With Vikram K Kumar returning to continue the story, expectations for the second season are already sky-high. Parvathy Thiruvothu and Priya Bhavani Shankar will once again play important roles alongside Naga Chaitanya, while the new season is expected to expand the mysterious universe established in the first chapter.

As production gets underway, Dhootha 2 promises to deliver more suspense, supernatural intrigue, and unexpected twists, making it one of the most anticipated Indian web series currently in development.
