Nayanthara is one of the leading actresses in the country and hailed by the fans fondly as the Lady Superstar. She, who had starred in director Mohan Raja's 'Thani Oruvan' and 'Velaikkaran' in the past, is now teaming up with again his next movie starring a superstar actor. Now, Mohan Raja has dropped a super update on Nayanthara's role in the film.

The much-anticipated project is none other than 'Godfather', the 153rd film of Tollywood superstar Chiranjeevi. It is the official remake of the acclaimed Malayalam blockbuster, 'Lucifer', starring Malayalam superstar Mohan Lal. Chiranjeevi will reprise Lal Ettan's role as a powerful politician. The film was helmed by Lal's ardent fan actor Prithvi Raj, who had also essayed a cameo role.

Nayantara has been shooting for Godfather for the last few months as she has been roped in as the heroine. She will reprise the role 'Manju' from the original version. On Wednesday, Mohan Raja took to his Instagram page to update that he had wrapped up a major schedule with Nayanthara and posted a picture with Lady Superstar from the sets of the movie. The photo is currently going viral among the fans.

Salman Khan is in talks to headline the cameo role. Thaman is the music director of Godfather, while Nirav Shah is on board to crank the camera. Suresh Selvarajan and Yugandhar T are the production designer and VFX Supervisor respectively. Produced by Ram Charan, RB Choudary and NV Prasad, the most-awaited film will hit the screens in 2022.
