Modi govt has caused loss of Rs 6 lakh crore: Congress

The Congress party has on Monday laid a sensational allegation at the doorsteps of the ruling BJP.  The Opposition party, offering no evidence whatsoever, said that an amendment to the Mines & Minerals Act, made in 2015, has benefitted the ruling party’s crony capitalist friends at the cost of the state exchequer.

“Did you know that the Modi govt passed a law changing how mining licenses were renewed? This amendment cost the public exchequer up to Rs 6 lakh crore and the only ones to benefit were BJP’s crony capitalist friends,” the Congress said, adding that the amendment had removed the necessary auction process for renewing leases.

Pawan Khera, the national spokesperson of the Congress, will hold a presser later today to talk about the alleged scam.
