At a recent event, Bollywood filmmakers Karan Johar, Imtiaz Ali and Dinesh Vijan took a selfie in which Narendra Modi was seen in the background, with his back turned towards the selfie camera. Taking to Twitter, Kaartik Aaryan posted, “Losers’ backfie with the Honorable PM!” This was a quip that entertained so many.
The Prime Minister didn’t leave it there. On Sunday, he quote-tweeted the tweet and said, “Not losers but Rockstars! No selfie Jab We Met but there will always be another occasion,” making a pun of sorts. ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Jab We Met’ are two of Imtiaz’s popular films. The tweet has gone viral and become one of the most popular Modi tweets ever.
Joining issue with them, columnist Aashish Chandorkar joked, “So much Love Aaj Kal in the Cocktail of Bollywood and Politics. Socha Na Tha!”
