Minister Komatireddy & NHRC Serious On Pushpa 2 Stampede Incident

Telangana cinematography minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy expressed his condolences over the demise of a woman, Revathi, at Sandhya Theatre on Pushpa 2 release day.

"Benefit shows will not be allowed from now on. It is sad that the film unit is not responding to the hero. Does a person's life matter to them? I hear that the film is making crores of money, and hence, I demand that 25 lakhs should be given to the victims. We should support that family," he said.

On the other hand, Lawyer Rama Rao Immineni has complained with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) concerning the tragic stampede that occurred during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theater.

In his complaint, Rama Rao highlighted the lapses in crowd management and accused authorities of negligence. He pointed out that the massive turnout for the event could have been anticipated, yet the police failed to respond effectively. The petitioner alleged that the pre-release event was conducted without proper permissions and that an excessive lathi charge by the Chikkadapalli police contributed to the chaos, ultimately leading to the fatal incident.

Rama Rao requested the NHRC to investigate the incident and take appropriate action against those responsible for the mismanagement, including the event organizers and law enforcement. Acknowledging the complaint, the NHRC has agreed to investigate the matter. Further developments are awaited as the case unfolds.
