After a Mexican teenager was allegedly shot dead by the police reportedly in a case of mistaken identity, his soccer team mates, in an extremely sweet gesture, made way for him to score final more goal after he was placed in his coffin.
In the viral tribute video, a young boy is seen kicking a football at the casket that redirects it to the makeshift goal as those gathered around break into an applause, following which the boys hug the coffin and pay heir last respects to Martinez. "16-year-old boy murdered in Mexico. His teammates took him to where they used to play football. And let him score, one last time. Never seen something like this," the caption of the viral video read. According to a report by an international news agency, the 16-year-old Mexican boy was Alexander Martinez and his murder was blamed on the police. On Thursday, Martinez was buried in his home village of Vicente Camalote after his coffin was taken to the football stadium. "We came in a caravan from town, with the support of all the people, who told us to keep going. We are not going to give them much time to get to the bottom of this," Teodoro Martínez, the boy's father reportedly stated.
The video has left people across the world teary-eyed. The footage has garnered over 5 million views and thousands of responses.
