A new initiative aimed at continuing Perry’s enduring commitment to helping those battling addiction has been announced recently as the Matthew Perry Foundation. The foundation said in a press release that its mission seeks to honour Perry’s legacy, inspired by his own words and life experiences, to do something powerful in bettering the lives of others.
The Friends star died at his Pacific Palisades home last Saturday. He was found unresponsive in his jacuzzi with no signs of foul play at around 4 p.m. PT, according to the LAPD’s statement on Sunday, law enforcement sources said.
Warner Bros. Television, which produced “Friends,” reacted to the news of his death with deep sorrow, recalling that Perry was a very talented and adroit actor, and most importantly, he was part of their family. The statement stressed his global influence involving comedic brilliance and expressed heartfelt condolences to the family, loved ones, and devoted fans.
The foundation’s announcement featured a touching quote by Perry, highlighting how he wanted to be remembered because he tried helping others and not because he was famous. The viewpoint emphasized the actor’s viewpoint to eliminate addiction together and not individually, hence taking steps and coming together to make a difference.
