Paul Rudd, best known for his roles in Marvel’s "Ant-Man" films, "This is 40" and "Clueless," was declared this year’s Sexiest Man Alive of the Year by the People magazine. Rudd joins a list that includes Idris Elba, Chris Hemsworth, John Legend, Michael B. Jordan among others.

"I do have an awareness, enough to know that when people hear that I’d be picked for this, they would say, ‘What?‘ ” Rudd said to People. “This is not false humility. There are so many people that should get this before me.”

Mark Ruffalo who shared screen space with Paul Rudd in the movie Captain America: Civil was and Avengers: End game congratulated him and wrote," Is that Paul Rudd…#SexiestManAlive?! I knew this day would come. Congrats, man I hope you continue to never age so you can continue to hold this title (sic)."

'FRIENDS' star Jennifer Aniston Rudd in Friends, The Object of My Affection and Wanderlust, shared two posts on her Instagram story reacting to the news. Sharing a video from Rudd’s photo shoot she wrote, “This makes me so happy. We’ve ALWAYS known this, but Paul Rudd is officially @people’s Sexiest Man Alive! (sic).”

The actor reached superstar status in a slew of Marvel superhero films including Ant-Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame. He will next be seen in 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' and appear alongside Will Ferrell in the new Apple TV+ series 'The Shrink Next Door', which premieres Nov. 12.
