Marudhanayagam Revival? Kamal Haasan Sparks Hope at IFFI 2025 !

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has once again ignited excitement among fans by expressing fresh optimism about his long-cherished dream project, Marudhanayagam. While attending the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2025) in Goa, the actor-filmmaker was asked about the status of the historical epic.

Smiling confidently, Kamal replied, “With today’s technological advancements, I strongly believe that making Marudhanayagam is now completely possible.”

The film, based on the life of 18th-century warrior-king Muhammad Yusuf Khan alias Marudhanayagam, was originally launched with massive fanfare in 1999. Kamal was set to direct and play the titular role, with a grand muhurat event attended by global attention, even Queen Elizabeth II sent her greetings. However, due to technological limitations and an enormous budget at the time, the project was shelved midway.

Now, with cutting-edge tools like AI, advanced VFX, and CGI widely available, Kamal feels the time is right to resurrect the film he has never given up on.

Fans across social media are buzzing with joy and anticipation. “Is Marudhanayagam finally happening this time?” has become the trending question.
