Renowned director Martin Scorsese joins hands with Fox News for an upcoming documentary series. The documentary series is going to be named "Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints," and it will feature the lives of many saints in several episodes. Among the saints to be featured are Joan of Arc, John the Baptist, and Mary Magdalene.
"I've lived with the stories of the saints for most of my life, thinking about their words and actions, imagining the worlds they inhabited, the choices they faced, and the examples they gave," Scorsese said in an official statement expressing his desire to do the project. He emphasized that saints are plural in their effort to go along the path of love, as written in the Gospels.
The series would mark the first project from Elizabeth Chomko since her 2018 Hilary Swank drama "What They Had." Jason Klarman, Chief Digital and Marketing Officer for Fox News Media, touted the heavyweight director's work in a statement welcoming Scorsese.
Since then, the newer entrant in 2018, Fox Nation, and its flagship shows include "Cancel This!" hosted by Roseanne Barr, Patriot Awards, "Piers Morgan Uncensored," and "Tomi Lahren is Fearless." The platform has also managed to attract Hollywood personalities like Kevin Costner and Kelsey Grammer for documentary projects.
In addition to the documentary, Scorsese is working on a 3D theatrical film on Jesus for 80 minutes, aiming to change the negative perception linked to organized religion. Co-written with Kent Jones, the film is part of Scorsese's larger exploration of religious themes through his works.
"Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints" will debut its first segment in November.
