“Summer Holidays”, which recently hit theatres, is receiving a positive response from audiences, emerging as a promising success for Tollywood. Produced by Dheeraj Mogilineni under the banner of Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainments and directed by Srikar Nayan, the film features Master Rohan, Master Arun and Baby Khushi in key roles. Winning appreciation from both children and adults, the film has struck an emotional chord with audiences.
Celebrating the encouraging response, the makers organised a grand thank-you meet in Hyderabad on Friday. The event saw the cast and crew express their gratitude to audiences, while urging families to experience the film on the big screen.
Actor Ramana Bhargav thanked producer Dheeraj Mogilineni for giving him an opportunity and backing a wonderful film. He said watching the movie brought back beautiful childhood memories and expressed his gratitude to the entire team.
Actress Harshini described “Summer Holidays” as a refreshing experience that can lift people’s spirits. Comparing the film to looking through old photographs that bring back happy memories, she said it would leave audiences feeling refreshed and recharged. She urged everyone to watch the film in theatres.
Actress Vasuki said the team had worked with the sole intention of making a meaningful film with a beautiful emotional core. She clarified that they did not make it with expectations of box-office rewards or awards, but wanted to convey a heartfelt story and message. She hoped audiences would appreciate the team’s sincere efforts.
Master Arun became emotional while speaking about his experience working on the film. Recalling how he had earlier become emotional during “35 Chinna Katha Kaadu” and upon receiving the National Award, he said “Summer Holidays” had moved him once again. He revealed that several people had called to congratulate the team, particularly praising the interval sequence and climax, which reportedly brought many viewers to tears. He thanked director Srikar Nayan, producer Dheeraj Mogilineni, his parents and everyone who supported him.
Master Rohan called “Summer Holidays” a diamond-like film from the Telugu film industry. He pointed out that audiences often appreciate Tamil and Malayalam cinema and urged them to extend similar encouragement to good films made in Telugu. He believed positive word of mouth would bring more families to theatres. Sharing his happiness about working alongside Arun, he also expressed hope that producer Dheeraj Mogilineni would launch him as a hero in the future.
Director Srikar Nayan expressed happiness over audiences comparing the performances of Arun and Rohan to legendary actors Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth. He credited Dheeraj Mogilineni for standing by him throughout the journey as a friend and mentor. Assuring audiences that the film would leave them with a smile and a memorable emotional experience, he appealed to everyone to watch it in theatres and support the team’s efforts.
Producer Dheeraj Mogilineni thanked the media fraternity for its tremendous support, saying their encouragement had given him the confidence to make ten more films. He appreciated every member of the cast and crew, particularly Jayasudha, for their wholehearted contribution, and acknowledged the dedication of the technicians.
Speaking about the challenges faced by small films, Dheeraj highlighted how movies often struggle to secure screens in prime locations. Referring to the response to the OTT release of “90s”, he said many viewers later expressed regret over missing the film in theatres. He observed that audiences increasingly tend to postpone watching films, assuming they can catch them on OTT platforms after a week or ten days.
Dheeraj urged moviegoers to change this approach and support good films during their theatrical run. He stressed that appreciating a film after its OTT release does little to help the filmmakers and that the real purpose of their efforts is fulfilled when audiences watch and encourage their work in theatres.
He further said that supporting films like “Summer Holidays” would encourage more directors like Srikar Nayan to bring meaningful stories to the screen. According to him, the film offers valuable lessons for children and a better understanding of life, while also providing an enjoyable and emotional experience for adults.
Concluding his speech, Dheeraj said the team had made every effort to ensure that audiences across all age groups would enjoy the film. He appealed to families not to miss “Summer Holidays” in theatres and to support sincere attempts to deliver meaningful cinema.
