Director Mari Selvaraj within a short span of time has raced to the top as one of the most influential filmmakers in Tamil cinema. Both his debut movie 'Pariyerum Perumal' and 'Karnan' starring Dhanush have turned out to be huge commercial successes as well as garnering all round critical acclaim.

Mari Selvaraj has built a new house and has moved in there with his family comprising of his wife Divya, little daughter and son and his parents. Celebrities who attended the event include actor/politician Udhayanidhi Stalin, directors Ram and Pa Ranjith and producer Kalaipuli S Thanu.

Mari Selvaraj's next movie has Udhayanidhi Stalin playing the lead with talks on with Keerthy Suresh, Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu to play other important characters. He will later helm a sports drama starring Dhruv Vikram in the lead.
