The television broadcast of the movie ‘Marco’ has been banned, and a request has been made to remove it from the OTT platform as well.
Released in late 2024, the Malayalam film ‘Marco’ gained popularity among audiences due to its intense action scenes. However, it also sparked controversy. The movie was dubbed into multiple languages and became a massive hit, collecting over ?100 crores.
On February 14, ‘Marco’ was made available on the SonyLIV OTT platform. Later, an application was submitted seeking permission for its television broadcast. However, the censor board denied approval, stating that the movie is not suitable for television airing.
Additionally, a request has been submitted to the Information and Broadcasting Department to remove the film from the OTT platform as well. Despite its strong reception among viewers, the film’s graphic violence has led to this controversy.
