Manchu Vishnu’s Kannappa: A Star-Studded Epic with Prabhas in a Mystery Role

Actor-producer Manchu Vishnu is going all out for his ambitious mythological fantasy drama, Kannappa. The epic project, starring Vishnu as the titular devotee of Lord Shiva, boasts a truly impressive cast drawn from various Indian film industries.

The confirmed lineup includes heavyweights like Mohanlal, Prabhas, Shiva Rajkumar, Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam, Madhoo, Devaraj, Aishwarya Bhaskaran, Mukesh Rishi, Rahul Madhav, Kaushal Manda, Ragu Babu, Arpit Ranka, and Preity Mukundan.

Adding to the intrigue surrounding the film is Prabhas’s role. While rumors initially suggested he would portray Lord Shiva, recent speculation points towards Nandeeswara. However, the makers are yet to confirm the actor’s character, adding fuel to the fire of anticipation.

In a recent video message, Vishnu himself fueled the mystery surrounding Prabhas’s involvement. He highlighted the immense online buzz generated by the actor’s casting, stating, “The update about Prabhas joining the sets trended at the top spot in Twitter (India) under the entertainment category.”

He further elaborated on Prabhas’s keen interest in the project, revealing, “I approached him for a certain character, but after listening to the narration, he showed interest in another role. I was happy to accommodate his preference, and we developed that character further.” Vishnu emphasized, “Prabhas essayed the role which he loved the most.”

While maintaining secrecy about the specific roles, Vishnu urged fans to be patient, promising gradual reveals over time. “We will reveal who is playing which role over a period of time. Until we introduce the characters, please abstain from coming to any conclusions. Please do not make any assumptions, and do not believe anybody,” he urged.

Vishnu concluded with a tantalizing promise, “We are very excited to bring Kannappa’s story to silver screens. On Monday morning, I have fantastic news for all of us.” With such a star-studded cast and Prabhas’s mysterious role at its center, Kannappa is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases in recent times.
