A middle-aged man posing himself as a Sub-Inspector was on Monday arrested by Tamil Nadu police on several charges. Rajesh Prithvi (42) faces serious charges, mainly related to sexual harassment of seven women.
Rajesh’s modus operandi is the stuff of debauched villains we find in movies. In 2017, he had set up a telemarketing company in Chennai. On the pretext of employing female tele-callers, he recruited women and harassed them. He coerced them into marrying him.
Earlier this month, an elderly couple approached Tiruppur police with the complaint that their 18-year-old daughter had been missing. When the cops successfully traced the missing girl, they discovered to their shock that she had married Rajesh Prithvi. No prizes for guessing that the culprit had blackmailed her into marrying him. In this way, he had married not one or two but seven women in the past.
“He would pose as a gutsy cop who had killed two gangsters in encounters. He would make the fast buck by amassing money from gullible people looking for a medical seat. He would invest the money on his victims and sexually abuse them,” says a report.
