The States of Maharashtra (288 seats) and Haryana (90 seats) will go to polls on October 21. The results of the single-phase polling will be announced on October 24.
Notification will be issued on Sept 27, while the last date for submission of nominations is October 4. Withdrawal of nominations has to be made by October 7.
In all, 10.76 crore voters are eligible to vote in this election.
Model Code of Conduct has come into force in the two States with immediate effect.
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said, “I appeal to all to cast their votes. In democracy, people question the government and have expectations from it. But only those who vote have the moral right to do so”.
