Veteran actor Madhavan is making his directorial debut with the upcoming biographical drama 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect'. The biopic is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer of the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO). Nambi Narayanan was falsely accused of espionage in 1994.
Madhavan has undergone a drastic transformation to sport Nambi Narayanan's look in the film. Rocketry also stars Simran, Rajit Kaur, Ravi Raghavendra and Atul Kulkarni in crucial roles. Famous Tamil star Suriya has essayed a cameo role as himself in the South Indian versions while Bollywood Baadshah Sharukh Khan essayed the cameo in Hindi and English versions.
Now, the makers have announced that Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will have a worldwide theatrical release on 1st April of 2022. The film was initially scheduled to release in Summer 2021 but postponed due to the second wave of the COVID pandemic. Rocketry is shot simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, and English and will also be released in the Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages.
The story spans across Nambi Narayanan's days as a graduate student at Princeton University, before exploring his work as a scientist and the false espionage charges placed upon him. It has been shot in India, Princeton, Scotland, France and Russia. With cinematography by Sirsha Ray, Sam CS has scored music for Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.
