Over the years, several Tamil films have been completed but are yet to see a release. Let’s take a look at some of these films:
Madha Gaja Raja
Directed by Sundar C and starring Vishal, Santhanam, Varalakshmi, and others, “Madha Gaja Raja” was shot in 2012. While it was delayed for 12 years due to various issues, reports suggest it might finally release during Pongal.
Dhruva Natchathiram
This Gautham Menon directorial, featuring Vikram, was filmed in 2016. Despite teaser releases and promises, issues like budget overruns and scheduling conflicts have delayed its release.
Naragasooran
Completed in 2018 with a star cast including Arvind Swami and Shriya, this Karthick Naren and Gautham Menon production faced financial hurdles, preventing its release even after assurances in 2020.
Chaturanga Vettai 2
A sequel to the 2014 hit, this film stars Arvind Swami and Trisha. Despite announcement of a release in 2017, the movie still remains unreleased.
Party
Venkat Prabhu’s project was filmed in Fiji and completed before the pandemic. However, the release was halted due to delayed government subsidies.
Other delayed movies include “Idam Porul Eval,” “Yung Mung Sung,” “Vanangamudi,” and “Va Deal.” These films continue to wait for a release despite having completed production.
