Actress Lakshmi Menon had started her career in Malayalam and entered Tamil with Vikram Prabhu's debut movie Kumki. She went on to act in movies like Kutti Puli, Sundara Pandian, Vishal's Pandiyanadu and Naan Sigappu Manithan and Jayam Ravi's Miruthan.

Lakshmi Menon had also acted with Thala Ajith in Vedalam as his sister, and was last seen in Tamil in Vijay Sethupathi's Rekka released before three years. While her movie Yung Mung Sung directed by Arjun and starring Prabhudeva is awaiting release, the actress has reportedly got her next movie.

Speculations are making rounds that Lakshmi Menon has been approached to star in a new movie which will have actor Aari of Nedunjalai playing lead role. This movie will be directed by debutant Rajasekara Pandian, an assistant of director Vasantha Balan, and an official clarification on Lakshmi Menon's presence in this movie is expected soon.
