Lagadapati’s credibility goes after survey disaster

Ladagapati Rajagopal as a successful pollster has a past.  But he has no future.  This election season, TRS’s scorching victory has made him look like a big loser.

The former Parliamentarian began by holding a press meet just a couple of days before the December 7th polling.  He confidently said that the public pulse in the State is slightly tilting towards the Mahakutami, giving a list of the districts in which the Congress combine was ahead.  

Even after the Exit Polls of big names like Axis, Lagadapati chose to stick his neck out by calling the election for Mahakutami.  This revived the hopes of many Kutami leaders.  

Lagadapati assumed that the higher voter turnout compared to 2014 will spell doom for TRS.  But the voters had other plans.  He said that Axis’ poll predicting TRS sweep will go wrong as Axis has a bad track record in south India.  Ultimately, Axis won and Lagadapati lost with a whimper.

It’s believed that many betting ‘rayullu’ put thousands and lakhs of rupees at stake by blindly trusting Lagadapati’s survey.  The betting was huge in West Godavari in Andhra Pradesh, for example.  Lagadapati has drowned them completely.
