Actor-director and Naam Tamilar Katchi founder Seeman is not for his fiery speeches and daring activities to defend the interests of Tamil people, culture and the language. He has also criticised Karnataka and Kerala Government for their stand over river sharing issues with Tamil Nadu.

As the state of Kerala has been ravaged by historical floods relief materials have been pouring in from various parts of the world. Seeman with a group of his NTK party members also went to Kerala with a truck load of relief materials. However the vehicle carrying Seeman's relief materials was detained by police in Kottayam of Kerala. They said they have to check the relief materials as they suspect Seeman who is facing police cases in Tamil Nadu.

The truck was allowed to leave only after four hours of intense checking by the Kerala police. This has evoked staunch criticism and condemnation from Seeman's party cadre, supporters and also Tamil nationalists.
