Actor Chandran had debuted in films in 2014, with the Prabhu Solomon directorial Kayal. Costarring Anandhi, the movie which was a love story set in the backdrop of Tsunami, and earned him good reviews for his performance irrespective of the commercial success.

Later the actor starred in Saattai maker Anbazhagan's Rubaai, and is currently a part of movies like Venkat Prabhu's Party, Thittam Poattu Thirudura Koottam, Naan Seitha kurumbu and Daavu which are in various stages of filming.

Chandran yesterday took it to Twitter to announce that he has changed his screen name Chandran to his original name Chandramouli and that henceforth he'll be called so. Quoting Jerry Spinelli's "Every name is real. That's the nature of names", the actor announced the news and thanked media and fans for the support offered to him.
