Today marks the 15th anniversary of the release of the critically acclaimed blockbuster movie 'Paruthiveeran' which was also the debut of today's top hero Karthi. The film directed by Ameer won two National Awards for lead actress Priya Mani and editor Raja Mohammad.

Karthi wrote a hearfelt thank you note to Ameer crediting him for the entire success of the film. "Fifteen golden years since Paruthiveeran. I feel blessed to have started my acting career with that film. Every move of mine was designed and tutored by Ameer sir and all the credit goes to him." gushed Karthi.

He then added emphatically "Of the many lessons learnt, I still treasure the way he taught me to immerse myself and enjoy the work that I do. Thanks to Ameer sir, Gnanavel anna, my dear fans, and the media for ushering me into this beautiful path."

'Paruthiveeran' had lilting music score by Yuvan Shankar Raja with cinematography by Ramji. The film starred Karthi, Priya Mani, Saravanan, Ponvannan, Sujatha Vijayakumar, Ganja Karuppu and Sampath Raj.
