'Kantara' buzz: Geetha Arts misses a jackpot

It's known that the Telugu version of 'Kantara' is presented by Allu Aravind's Geetha Arts. The dubbed film, which hit the screens on October 15, has been a resounding hit in the Telugu States.
The sad part is that Geetha Arts is reportedly not able to maximize its revenue even though the Rishab Shetty-starrer is a box-office blockbuster. The reason is this: the film was bought by Geetha Arts and released on a commission basis in Telugu.
Had the rights of the film been bought upfront, 'Kantara' would have given the banner a windfall.
However, there is a catch. Perhaps, Hombale Films (the original producer) sensed that the film would do well in Telugu after it became a blockbuster in Kannada after its release on September 30. May be, just may be, the banner was not ready to sell the film on Geetha Arts' terms. The truth will come out only if someone in the know spills the beans in some future interview.
