Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan started shooting for his Tamil-Telugu-Hindi trilingual 'Sabaash Naidu' in the mid of 2016. The first schedule of the film's shooting was completed in Los Angeles, USA. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Ramya Krishnan and Shruti Haasan in lead roles.

After completing the first schedule, Kamal Haasan returned to Chennai in July 2016 and that's when he suffered a severe leg fracture after falling down from a staircase at his home. This accident necessitated the actor to undergo a surgery and take rest for a long period of time. Due to this the shooting of 'Sabaash Naidu' has still not resumed.

Recently, Kamal Haasan has confirmed that 'Viswaroopam 2' the long delayed sequel to his 2013 blockbuster 'Viswaroopam' has been acquired by Raj Kamal Films International and the film will be released within 2017. In a recent interview, the multi-talented star who is also the writer-director of 'Viswaroopam' series has confirmed that only a very little work is left in 'Viswaroopam 2'except post-production. He said the film will hit the screens within the end of this year.

Speaking about 'Sabaash Naidu' he said the trilingual film will also be completed within this year, but there will ample gap between the release of two films. Which means we can expect 'Sabaash Naidu' to hit the screens within the first quarter of 2018.

'Sabaash Naidu' is also being directed by Kamal Haasan and produced by Raj Kamal Films International. Isaignani Ilaiyaraja is providing the music score for the film.
