Kajal received huge fee despite no role in ‘Acharya’

Kajal Aggarwal’s scenes from ‘Acharya’ have been officially axed. Originally, director Koratala Siva had intended to retain her fun-loving character in the serious-mind action entertainer although she is not Chiranjeevi’s love interest in the film. With time, her role was removed to make the film less flabby.

It’s believed that the ‘Magadheera’ actress shot for the movie for all of five days. And she was paid Rs 1.5 Cr despite the fact that a decision to drop her role was taken early on.

Kajal’s loss is that she has failed to grab the attention of the audience as Chiranjeevi’s heroine. Her fans may be disappointed but they are appreciating the fact that Koratala and Chiru have taken a decision in the larger interest of the film. Moreover, the actress has been gracious to see the point of view of the makers.

‘Acharya’, co-starring Ram Charan and Pooja Hegde, has music by Mani Sharma. The film, whose trailer was released recently, will hit the screens on April 29.
