Three biggies from South India have failed this year so far: 'Radhe Shyam', 'Acharya' and 'Beast'. But the year has been defined by the astonishing exploits by 'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram' and 'KGF 2'. That's why what Tollywood, Sandalwood and Kollywood have in store in June has become a matter of interest. June is going to be an exciting month for Southern cinema.
Come June 3, both 'Vikram' and 'Major' are expected to take huge openings in their own right. 'Vikram', the Tamil original, is a multi-lingual release starring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has roped in Suriya for a special role that won't last long in the film.
On the same day, Adivi Sesh's 'Major' will hit the screens. Shot simultaneously and separately in Telugu and Hindi, this tri-lingual (also releasing in Malayalam) has got patriotism and humane drama going for it. Unlike 'Vikram', which seems to be a gritty and edgy actioner, 'Major' is more oriented to attracting the family audience.
Come June 10, Nani will woo the audience to theatres with 'Ante Sundaraniki'. Directed by Vivek Athreya, the film will release in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. Nani has already started giving pre-release interviews. Mythri Movie Makers, after 'Pushpa: The Rise' and 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata', is expecting a hat-trick.
On the same day, the Kannada original '777 Charlie' will be released. Starring Rakshit Shetty in the lead, the adventure comedy-drama will also be released in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil. Its trailer, released today, is promising.
