Rajinikanth's Jailer, directed by Nelson, will hit the screens worldwide on August 10th. The thriller produced by Sun Pictures with the music of Anirudh has been raising expectations to a high level by the new posters, singles and glimpses. The mega multistarer boasts of the starcast of legends Rajini, Mohanlal, Shivrajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Sunil, Ramya Krishnan with Tamannaah, Vasantha Ravi and Redin Kingsley and Vasanth Ravi.
The first single 'Kaavaalaa' with video featuring Tamannaah has become a massive hit. The second single 'Hukum Tiger' is releasing on the evening of July 17th. With this kind of innovative promotions in full swing there has been a new controversy raised in Kerala.
Director Sakkir Madathil has called for a press conference in Kerala and stated that he has requested Sun Pictures to change or modify the title of 'Jailer' for its Kerala release. The reason is his own low budget Malayalam film of the same name has been slated for release on the same day. He said the confusion in the title will affect his small film but will have no impact for the Tamil film as it has Malayalam superstar Mohan Lal also in the cast.
Sakkir also added that Sun Pictures a corporate is reluctant to change the title and has decided to continue with the same during release. It remains to be seen how this issue is sorted out ahead of the Kerala release of 'Jailer'.
