A scientist at ISRO's arm National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA), identified as 56-year-old Suresh Kumar, was murdered by a lab technician four days ago in Hyderabad over a payment dispute involving their homosexual relationship.
Suresh Kumar was found dead at his apartment in the Ameerpet area in the heart of the city on Tuesday. He lived alone in the flat as his family resides in Chennai. The accused, identified as Srinivas, stabbed him to death over an argument regarding the payment for their sexual activity. "Srinivas purchased a knife and went to Suresh's apartment on September 30 at 9.30 pm and after having sex with him, an argument for money broke out between the two. Amidst the argument, Srinivas killed Suresh by attacking him with a knife and causing serious head injuries," according to a report.
Suresh Kumar allegedly sought sexual favours from Srinivas, while the latter hoped to satisfy him in return for money. When Suresh Kumar refused to meet his demands, Srinivas slit his throat and killed him. The incident came to light when Suresh Kumar's wife, who worked in a bank in Chennai, tried to contact him but was unable to reach him. Based on forensic evidence, Srinivas was questioned and arrested after his confession to the murder.
