Director Nag Ashwin, who recently roped in Naga Chaitanya to play ANR's role in 'Mahanati', is on record stating that talks with NTR are on to play the senior NTR's role in the movie.

However, with the 'Jai Lava Kusa' star seriously engaged in rigorous physical training for his next movie, will he be willing to do the biopic when his physique is undergoing a makeover? Even if it's conceded that NTR will only be playing a cameo in the Keerthi Suresh-Samantha movie, it's unlikely he will essay his grandpa's role.

There were rumours that Anushka will be seen as Bhanumathi in the awaited, but the director has said there is no truth in the reports. As for Chay, he will be seen repeatedly in the movie for very brief durations.
