The much anticipated mega film 'Indian 2', starring Kamal Haasan, in the lead landed in troubled waters after creative differences arose between director Shankar and production house Lyca Productions. Various cases were filed by Lyca including seeking a ban for Shankar to direct new movies that he has signed such as 'RC15' and 'Anniyan' Hindi remake.
Today the case came up for hearing in the Chennai High Court and counsels for Lyca let it be known that they were ready for the arbitration panel headed by retired judge Bhanumati to mediate between the two sides and promised not to press on the ban against director Shankar. The director's side also stood strong that he has to complete his other commitments and cannot back out from that.
The judge then closed the case filed by Lyca and urged both the sides to resolve their issues amicably under the guidance of Judge Banumati. The past week rumours were rife that 'Indian 2' is shelved and there was no chance for it to be revived.
The court order however gives hope that Shankar and the Subashkaran owned production house may bury their differences and soon resume work on 'Indian 2' which is now about fifty percent complete with a couple of hundred crores already pumped in.
'Indian 2' has music by Anirudh and stars Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, Bobby Simha and Samuthirakani among others.
