Popular actress Genelia Deshmukh, one of the most beloved stars of Telugu cinema in the early 2000s, is making a long-awaited comeback with the upcoming family drama Junior. After a gap of thirteen years, her return is creating significant buzz among fans and film enthusiasts.

In a recent interaction with the media, Genelia shared her excitement about re-entering Tollywood but also emphasized that she plans to be highly selective with her roles moving forward. “I’ll continue doing Telugu films only if I receive scripts that truly excite me. The character has to matter, and I want to be part of meaningful stories,” she stated.

Genelia was last seen in the successful Hindi film Sitaare Zameer Par, alongside Aamir Khan, which garnered both critical and commercial appreciation. In Junior, she takes on a pivotal role, playing the sister of lead actor Kireeti Reddy. Her character is said to have significant weight in the storyline, adding emotional depth to the narrative.

The film also stars Sreeleela as the female lead and is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on July 18, 2025.
