Allu Arjun, the acclaimed actor renowned for his portrayal in "Pushpa," exemplified his commitment to civic responsibility by casting his vote early in Hyderabad for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Sporting a modest ensemble of a simple white tee and black pants, Arjun gracefully navigated the polling booth, exchanging pleasantries with fellow voters along the way.
Following the completion of his voting, Arjun addressed the press, stressing the paramount importance of active participation in the electoral process: "Today holds immense significance for us as citizens. Despite the sweltering heat, let's unite in this endeavor as our collective choices today will shape the trajectory of the next five years. Let's exercise our franchise responsibly."
Arjun's civic engagement unfolds against a backdrop of controversy surrounding his recent political affiliations. Publicly endorsing YSRCP candidate Silpa Ravi Reddy in Nandyal and reiterating his steadfast support for his uncle, Pawan Kalyan, leader of Jana Sena, stirred debate. However, his involvement in campaigning for YSRCP MLA Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy drew legal scrutiny for purportedly breaching the Model Code of Conduct by assembling a large gathering without requisite permissions.
He said " am not aligned with any political party," he stated firmly. "While my allegiance lies with my uncle, Pawan Kalyan, my support for Shilpa Ravi is rooted in our 15-year friendship. I have pledged him my support, regardless of political allegiances. My visit to Nandyal was solely to stand by my friend. I have no aspirations to enter politics. It is imperative that everyone exercises their right to vote."
A circulating video capturing Arjun acknowledging a sizable crowd outside the MLA's residence on May 11th further heightened the controversy. Despite the legal complexities, Arjun's message remains unwavering: he urges every citizen to exercise their voting rights conscientiously, underscoring the significance of active participation in shaping the nation's future.
