'GOT' prequel 'House of the Dragon' begins production - cast and release details

'Game of Thrones' is one the most popular web series in recent times that especially caught the imagination of the younger crowd. Now the spinoff and the prequel to the show titled 'House of the Dragon' has begun production with the first set of photos surfacing on social media.
Apparently, Emma D’Arcy’plays Rhaenyra Targaryen and Matt Smith the character Daemon Targaryen and they are seen deep in conversation in the pics. According to GOT & HOTD fan site, "House of the Dragon will heavily involve the dragonlord ancestors of Daenerys, as well as the Dance of the Dragons. The prequel goes back approximately 200 or 300 years to center on the beginning of the end of the once all-powerful dynasty that dominated the Seven Kingdoms."
The same source reveals Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik will serve as showrunners and executive producers. George R.R. Martin, Vince Gerardis, Sara Hess, and Ron Schmidt will also serve as executive producers, with Greg Yaitanes as co-executive producers.
The cast of 'House of the Dragon' according to HBO are Paddy Considine (HBO’s The Third Day and The Outsider), Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One), Emma D’Arcy (Truth Seekers), Matt Smith (The Crown, Doctor Who), Steve Toussaint (It’s a Sin, Doctor Who), Eve Best (Nurse Jackie, The King’s Speech), Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill, The Amazing Spider-Man) and Sonoya Mizuno (Ex Machina, Crazy Rich Asians). The first season is expected to premiere in 2022
