Hansika Seeks Dismissal of Domestic Violence Case with New Petition

Actress Hansika Motwani’s brother, Prashant Motwani, married Hindi television actress Muskaan Nancy James in 2020. In 2022, Hansika herself got married to businessman Sohail Khaturiya. However, within 10 days of Hansika’s wedding, Prashant filed for divorce from Muskaan due to irreconcilable differences.

In 2024, Muskaan filed a domestic violence complaint with the Amboli Police in Mumbai against her husband Prashant, Hansika, and Hansika’s mother Mona. She alleged that they mentally harassed her, demanded money and expensive gifts, and opposed her reconciliation with Prashant.

Following Muskaan’s complaint, the police registered a case under four different sections. In February of the same year, the Mumbai Sessions Court granted interim bail to all three accused.

Later, Hansika approached the Mumbai High Court seeking to quash the domestic violence case filed against her. She stated that the allegations were baseless and made with malicious intent. After reviewing the petition, a bench comprising Justices Sarang Kotwal and SM Modak issued a notice to the police and postponed the hearing to July 3.
