While the MCU is doing wonders on one side, DC also has an impressive slate of films coming up with The Batman, Black Adam, The Flash, and Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom on the other side. And topping it all, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 superhit DCEU movie Shazam!. We have some hot news on the film now.

Superhero crossovers are one of the timeless and ever exciting fashion of the comic book movie universes. The recent hot news is that another DC superhero character Wonder Woman played by Gal Gadot will appear in the sequel. According to the original comics, Shazam is the champion of the Greek god Zeus and Wonder Woman is the daughter of Zeus.

So, it is obvious that they share a connection and it makes sense for Wonder Woman to headline a cameo in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Notably, the first Shazam film ended with Superman showing up. The Shazam family is set to lock horns with the three daughters of Atlas (Greek God) in the sequel which could have some connection to Shazam possessing the stamina of Atlas.

David F. Sandberg, who directed the first instalment, is also directing the second part with the screenplay by Henry Gayden. Shazam 2 is the fourteenth film in the DCEU. The principal cast of the first film will return for the sequel too with the additional cast: Rachel Zegler, Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu. Shazam! Fury of the Gods is scheduled to release on June 2, 2023.
