During the recent devastations caused by the Gaja Cyclone, Makkal Neethi Maiam leader Kamal Haasan visited the affected areas and also distributed relief materials amounting to around two crore rupees. He also wrote a lengthy letter to the neighboring Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan seeking support. The CM has responded positively and has announced a donation of rupees 10 Crores.
Kamal Haasan has thanked Pinarayai Vijayan stating “I thank the Kerala Chief Minister for responding within 24 hours of my request and granting rupees ten crores for the Gaja Cyclone relief which shows his humanitarianism”
