Tamil Nadu is gearing up for the grand festival of Democracy aka the State Assembly Elections scheduled on May 16. With less than a fortnight ahead for the poll day the Election Commission bestowed with the mighty responsibility of conducting a free and fair has been undertaking various measures for the same.
Recently there were rumors suggesting that the commission has announced separate special queue for film stars to cast votes so that they need not wait for longer time in the common queue of people. this evoked widespread criticism in social media and people started questioning such a preferential treatment to film stars.
However Rajesh Lakhoni the Cheif Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu has denied any such preferential treatment to actors and actresses. Lakhoni has said taht there wont be any special queue for film stars or any other celebrities. There will be two queues, one for men and the other for women. Every voter should come in that queue and wait for their turn.
