Tollywood writer-director N Sai Balaji Prasad, aged 57, breathed his last earlier today while undergoing treatment at the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, for a coronavirus infection. He is survived by his wife and daughter.

Sai Balaji began his career as an associate writer. He worked on the screenplay of Chiranjeevi's ‘Bavagaru Bagunnara?’ in the late 1990s, a film that changed his career for good. For the big-ticket film, he had teamed up with actor-producer Naga Babu.

After gaining experience under the tutelage of senior director Ravi Raja Pinisetty, Sai Balaji helmed films such as ‘Orey Thammudu’, and ‘Sivaji’, starring late Srihari.

After his stint in Tollywood, Sai Balaji made a name for himself on the TV world by directing ‘Siri’, ‘Aparanji’ and ‘Halahalam’.

IndiaGlitz condoles Sai Balaji's demise. May his wife Gauri and daughter Sneha Pujitha have the strength to overcome the grief!
