The 'Paruthiveeran' movie dispute has been social media's centre of attention for the past few days. Producer Gnanavel Raja accused actor-director Ameer of the budget mishap in the highly acclaimed film which marked Karthi's debut. Later, many celebrities came in support of Ameer and took a stand against Gnanavel Raja, Suriya and Karthi.
Ameer stated in his interviews that Suriya and he were good friends until Gnanavel Raja came along. He added that he has no issue in acting alongside Suriya in director Vetrimaaran's upcoming project, 'Vaadivaasal'. Now, Ameer has thanked Suriya in his statement over the 21st release anniversary of his debut movie 'Mounam Pesiyadhe' starring Suriya.
His statement is now going viral. Here is a rough translation of his statement:
"Thank you to everyone who gave me an unexpected level of confidence, love and support not to give up and to keep going when I was gifted with slurs and insults in public to bring me down a month ago.
It's been 21 years since the release of my first film "Mounam Pesiyadhe" which gave me an identity as a director. I am happy to share this heartwarming moment with you. The dream of everyone who came to Chennai and Cinema did not come true.
I was one of the crowds who was carrying such dreams. My thanks to Aparajeeth Films including my producers Ganesh Raghu and Venky Narayanan, the producers of 'Mounam Pesiyathe' and to the actors and actresses including Suriya, Trisha, Laila, cinematographer Ramji and Yuvan Shankar Raja, who travelled with me and gave their hands to the success of the film!
In these 21 years since the beginning of my film journey, even though the films I have directed are few, I am deeply grateful to cinema fans, Mounam Pesiyadhe fans, friends of media and press, and especially to the people of Tamil Nadu for supporting me and keeping me in mind."
