Actress kidnapped and sexually abused case – Top hero files appeal

On February 17th, 2017 a famous young Malayalam and Tamil actress was returning to her home from a shoot in Kerala when a gang headed by one Pulsar Suni abducted her and sexually assaulted her in a moving car and also videotaped the three-hour ordeal.  The victim was let off after being blackmailed that if she talked about it the video will be publicized.

However the brave actress lodged a police complaint and the gang was arrested but in further investigation, Dileep the superstar of Malayalam cinema was also taken into custody and lodged in jail for allegedly masterminding the entire crime.  Dileep came out on bail after 85 days in jail and is now continuing to act in films.

Dileep had put up a petition in the court asking for a CBI probe on the case which was rejected  with the judge stating that the accused cannot ask for particular agency to deal his case.  He has now appealed to the Division Bench of High Court of Kerala challenging the December 19 judgment rejecting his plea for CBI investigation.  The case goes to trial in the first week of April and some sections of the Kerala media have written that Dileep is employing delay tactics.
