Official: Rockstar Music director for ‘Saamy 2’

Shibu Thameens of Thameens Films, who has produced mega budget films like 'Iru Mugan' and 'Puli', is gearing up to produce one of Tamil cinema's most eagerly awaited films, 'Saamy 2' which is the sequel of the 2003 blockbuster 'Saamy'. This film directed by Hari will have Chiyaan Vikram as a street smart, straight forward and powerful cop. 

Trisha and Keerthy Suresh have been signed up by the unit  to  play the female leads in this film.

Adding to the excitement , one of the leading music directors of the Tamil and Telugu film industries, Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad, has been signed up by the team to score music for this prestigious project.

This will be the fifth time that Devi Sri Prasad will be joining hands with director Hari. The earlier outings of this super hit duo include the blockbusters 'Singam 1& 2' , the songs of which were instant chartbusters and continue to enthrall audiences even today. 

Similarly, Devi Sri Prasad, who is popularly known as DSP, has also worked with Chiyaan Vikram earlier for the movie  'Kandasamy'.which had chartbuster numbers. 

Now, DSP will be working with Hari and Vikram in Saamy 2. DSP, who has been busy with Telugu projects has been churning out super hit after superhit for movies like Chiranjeevi's 'Khaid No 150' , Junior NTR- Mohanlal's 'Janatha Garage' and Mahesh Babu's 'Srimanthudu' to name a few will be making a comeback in Tamil with 'Saamy 2'. . .

Director Hari is known for making films with thrilling screenplays that are full of swift developments. With these people coming together, one can safely say now itself that all the songs in this film will be super hits

The makers have also officially confirmed that the work on 'Saamy 2' will begin in July 2017.
